Ponytails…an easy formal updo for most any event. Ponytails are a great, simple hairstyle that will accentuate a formal gown. Ponytails are wonderful if you have a very fancy gown, or jewelery that you want to stand out. The simplicity of a ponytail will add an elegant feel to your over all look.

Ponytails can also be playful when dressed down with a summer day dress. You can soften a ponytail with a sidesweep bang, giving it class and personality.

Ponytails are generally used by women with long hair, it’s a fast solution to long locks….just add a little curl at the bottom and straighten those long bangs and you’re set for a night on the town.

A great way to dress up a ponytail is to wrap the elastic or hair-safe band with hair using a bobbypin to keep in in place hidden under the wrap. This a great hairstyle if you don’t have bangs and you prefer a tight, sleek look.

This is a similar look by Gwen Stefani. She placed the ponytail higher on her head, and back combed a bubble in front of the crown area, giving it a softer look with out bangs.
